Cricket lovers are curiously waiting for the event to come but till yet everyone is unknown about the host of IPL 2014. Do you know who will host IPL 2014?
IPL 2009 was hosted by South Africa and again may be South Africa will host Indian Premier League 2014. IPL 2014 is scheduled to take place in April-May next year which in all probability will clash with the polls. There are maximum chances to host the IPL 2014. A top BCCI official said, “The Lorgat issue is there but South Africa still are hot favourites. The new IPL chairman will also have a vote.”
It is heard that that the IPL governing council will address the matter after the BCCI’s Annual General Meeting on September 29. It just might be too early to hazard on the venues but some said that should the tournament be played outside India then South Africa is the first choice.
A BCCI official said “That is because it’s a tried and tested location.” However, the BCCI will do the best it can to hold the IPL on home soil.
The rumour is around that the IPL 2014 will be held at smaller country than India due to cold climate. The BCCI source uttered that, “Only if some of the matches clashing with the general elections need to be relocated, Lanka can be explored.” Let’s see what will happen?
